I never EVER pay for "extra features" in games, like premium accounts, registered version, etc. It's a moral and money thing. Yet, some of the mods for oblivion look awesome (and even essential). Things like horse armor should have been in the game anyway, and to have it ready to be released as a mod right after the game is out is a bad practice, as are small new things like a building (mages tower, theives den). Complete new lands and storylines (like bloodmoon for morrowind) are worth paying for because they are a whole full featured game in of themselves when your done with the original game. Please don't buy mods. Bethesda should give us all of the mods they have released so far as free optional addons (like they did with morrowind), and work on bigger expansions which we can then buy online instead. What do you guys think? |

Ya, I more or less agree w/ vlad, they should work on larger/free downloadable expansions. I think the mods they're coming out with are either something that should of been in the game already, or different(?), Improved (?) versions of player made mods (wizards tower, thieves den) But for 2 bucks, I think I'de buy thieves den. :) It really sounds nice. |

YEAH, dumb charging for mods, that's crazy, especially if tis only $1.89, they are already at the 1st and 4th spot of BEST SELLERS list, so they should have tons of income coming from that they shouldn't need to charge for mods, |

the way its 1st and 4th is that, the REgualr edition is 1st, the special edition is 4th :D |

What a load of crap. Bethesda is really desperate for money if they're charging under two dollars for a miniscule addon instead of simply allowing those who shelled out fifty for the game to download them. It's outrageous. It's the wave of the future - every company is trying to bleed PC users dry with small added features at a premium. Look at EA and battlefield 2. Good god. |

I still don't understand what all the fuss is about charging for mods. When did it become immoral to charge for work that you've done? And it's not like they're charging a lot either - seriously, how is everyone so tight that they'd whine about having to pay $2 for something that obviously took time and effort to create? Bethesda is a business, and businesses don't work if they give their product away. If you don't like it, don't buy it - easy! |

Is it worth is anyone |

I don't really have a problem either way, but you said buisnesses don't work if they give their product away for free. Well the point is that we already paid for the game, so no one is getting anything for "free" either way. Small add ons like that should be free though, since it is more of just stuff that should of been in the game to begin with. |

Wel i like the idea but i aint going to pay for it. I paid for the game and i am working on my own dungeon :-) But they create extras and they think we are going to pay for it. If they would create an expension pack for the game i would by it in my shop but i wil not by just an litle addition. |

I like paying for mods. I really do, cause than I have things all the cheap people don't. Especially since a pack of smokes costs me 6.00 every morning. The Wizard Tower, Orrey, and Thieves Den was the financial equivlant (Actually less) than a pack of smokes. That seems worth it to me... |

ahh, oblivion, a big fuck off let down.... |
by Zelieo @ Sun, 04 Jun 2006 23:38:52 +0000 |
Dude, why not use that pirate site that got posted? All of the official mods, FREE. |
by meekon5 @ Tue, 06 Jun 2006 15:49:35 +0000 |
You don't complian when a band charge you for a single then charge you for the album (or maybe you do). Buy it don't buy it who cares stop whinging. |
by KoCW @ Thu, 20 Jul 2006 13:34:21 +0000 |
Hey man, extra mods mean the software team did not have a better design "quest". and from a customer point of view, they should not really charge for extra, we should not paying for "lack of professional" game. I am a software architect, I am creating my own castle (with basement link to all bought house, 2 maids, 1 chef, player can mess up anything and maid will tidy up for you),when it's ready, I will post for FREE! hey look, I will do it's FOC!! |

It's people like Meekon5 and Kieser Sose (Imagine! The guy loves buying add-ons just to have stuff others don't! lol) who ruin the good old spirit of game then expansion then expansion. Pay just to have my horse wear armor? Or have my thief sleep in a den? To me it's as ridiculous as buying Sims2 then paying money to download a new dress for your Sim lol ;-) Let the losers pay. The core game is more than enough to the traditional player until Bethesda decides to launch an expansion. But bethesda, truly, you really dissapoint us, and lots of us are very very old fans of your series. |
by bane0030 @ Wed, 16 Aug 2006 00:31:22 +0000 |
all i think is that bethesda just needs to create a whole heap of mods for example the land of valenwood and hammerfall or maybe a boat to morrowind that should'nt be too hard for morrowind is already thought and only needs to be converted into a tes4 file and there you go you got morrowind and bloodmoon then they should just make and entire world map of oblivion and a magical planit called you all winge too much, but the point is there probly funding the people who will build these mods by creating small mods in wich they can sell now and include l8er so i say if you want to buy now or wait a few months have a bit of fun then buy the add ons at your lockal K mart or what ever you have |
by engineered plague @ Sat, 23 Sep 2006 19:51:51 +0000 |
I would be more willing to pay the two bucks if I knew the money actually went to the plugin designer(s). But this seems highly doubtful to me so I will be looking to pirated sites for free downloadable versions as well. Sorry Bethesda, even if it is cheap, you were giving us mods for free last time. Charging people now seems a bit greedy. |
